Therapy for children or staff
I work with children in schools, delivering collaborative therapy sessions that help children feel heard and accepted, within a safe, therapeutic environment. Sessions can be short or long-term and help children improve confidence, wellbeing and educational outcomes.
Sometimes staff need an empathic and supportive space, I provide confidential counselling in or out of school. This can help increase staff satisfaction, performance and reduce staff absence.
“If we want people to believe in themselves, we must show them that we believe in them first.”
Charlotte Laffan-Butler,

Therapeutic mentoring is a bespoke, child-centred blend of counselling and mentoring. The CLB Approach (Create, Learn, Believe) helps children identify their strengths, whilst improving their emotional literacy, social skills and mental health. Children can heal from trauma, improve attachment and build resilience for the future.
I have extensive experience of working with looked-after children and children who may or may not have been identified as SEND. Working with the “Team around the child” in school, we can collectively support the best interests of the children.
Creating a safe space to explore challenges and barriers, with a qualified therapist. Children are encouraged to express themselves creatively, using skills and activities they enjoy and connect with.
Building self-awareness and emotional literacy with therapeutic tools and psychoeducation. Children learn about themselves and others, exploring emotions, relationships, behaviour, and mindfulness.
Supporting children with a positive approach, believing in them and their potential. Identifying strengths, building self-confidence, and empowering children to believe in themselves.
How Counselling Works in Schools
Referrals can be made for children with issues such as bullying, low self-worth, anxiety, changes in behaviour, or for children who may benefit from some quiet time and space where they can explore their world and feel heard.
The approach is suitable for both short-term and long-term interventions, with sessions reviewed every half term. Outcomes are measured using self-reporting and staff feedback questionnaires, ensuring the intervention is appropriate and effective.

All therapy is holistic and integrative, which means I incorporate a variety of tools and strategies for both children and adults.
Please contact me if you would like to discuss counselling for your school.
“We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know”
